September 2011: Nishant Ratnakar leaves his position of Chief Photographer at DNA Bangalore and goes completely independent as a writer, photographer and multimedia producer.

July 2011: Nishant Ratnakar published  his maiden book, “Fistful of Dreams”

July 2011: Nishant Ratnakar is awarded the “Best Published Photograph of TCS World 10k Run Bangalore” prize.

May 2011: Nishant Ratnakar successfully completes the Diploma in Photojournalism at ACFJ at Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines.

June 2010: Nishant Ratnakar and Pradeep Badekkila win the ‘Lost Lakes of Bangalore’ video contest for their short-film, “Err-bane Truth

May 2010: Nishant Ratnakar is awarded a full scholarship to pursue a 1 year Diploma in Photojournalism from ACFJ (Asian Center For Journalism) at Ateneo De Manila University, Philippines.

April 2010: Nishant Ratnakar is promoted as the Chief Photogapher at DNA Bangalore.

December 2008: Nishant Ratnakar completes documentary on ethnic Indian migrants in Cambodia as part of Angkor Photography workshop

November 2008: Nishant Ratnakar is selected as one of the 30 young Asian Photographers for the free photography workshop held during Angkor Photography Festival 2008, Siem Reap.

September 2008: Nishant Ratnakar joins the photography team at the newspaper – DNA (Bangalore), as senior Photographer

March 2007: Nishant Ratnakar joins the staff photography team at Vijay Times/Bangalore Mirror (Times of India Group).

October 2006: Nishant Ratnakar finally bids farewell to IT industry to answer his true calling in Photography. He hits the streets and alleys of Bangalore city and beyond looking to tell stories through photographs. Freelances with NGOs, newspapers and magazines.
